Branding a LOGO - Who knew?!

What the heck is a LOGO? What, you mean people actually professionally name their businesses? Who knew?! Well, after doing a bit of research online about logo's, branding and how to get a bit of a more professional look to my new adventure, I stumbled across a lot of information about branding and of course "FREE LOGO's". Well, we all know there really isn't too much in this world that is free; at least not quality stuff. So, once I figured out what branding was, what a logo for my business meant and how to get started with finding the perfect style that fit me, who I am and what my products are all about.. I stumbled upon Mandy on... wait for it... ETSY. I will include her link to her Etsy business page at the end of this blog. She hand draws all of her logo's, she is multifaceted in many, many ways... on top of all of that, she is amazingly nice and extremely helpful.

I "settled" on my perfect logo. I emailed the details, what I wanted....and when I got the proof back.. I only felt excitement! I thought to myself "WOW", even if I only sell one lip gloss ever.. it will all be worth it because this logo.. is amazing! I feel like I have arrived, like I have a purpose and all of my hard work... validated by three little words in the cutest little logo I have ever seen "TwinklingGallery Organics".

Who knew something like this would be so empowering? Along with a business comes so much more. Advertising, logo's, business cards, what kind of stamps to use, what kind of packaging to use and what kind of little touch can I add to my products that make it my own.

Then to top it off.. Making a fantastic product.

SO far, I haven't sold ONE SINGLE LIP BALM ( or any other product for that matter).. I have given out a ton of samples though and all of my feed back has been fantastic. I just need that one person to see my products for what it is.. and away we will go!!!

In the meantime, I will rest my head softly on my pillow tonight and think about my amazing logo that represents me... in just a few little words!!

Forever Natural,

Abbey Lynn

How it all started.

Every idea and thought starts somewhere. Everyone has a creative side and everyone is capable of using their own imagination. It's actually sitting down, mapping out those ideas and creating a plan to move forward that a lot of us skip. I was laid off last November from my part time job at a medical office. I've always been in the medical office setting, I've always enjoyed it and it is something I will always do. So while I sit home applying for jobs, I have to keep myself busy. As the day's pasted, "what can I do with my time"? I've always enjoyed lip balms. Ask anyone who knows me. I will always have a tube on me (or several) in my purse, in my car, in my desk, random places through out my home. So, why not make my own? It seems everyone these days has taken an interest in organic ingredients in some way or another. Organic, however is a lifestyle; not just something that you include here and there. You do need to start somewhere though, so why not lip balm?

Slowly I started my search for how to make lip balms, salves and scrubs. I love books so when I started stumbling upon book after book of instructions, what to buy, what to use from ingredients to the perfect lip balm jar and tube and also a ton of information on essential oils.. I Just knew.. THIS IS IT. I went up to my local health store (on many occasions) to buy many ingredients for my balms. After a while I realized I had everything I needed to get started. So I did.

My first lip balm turned out AMAZING! WOW, I did something and it actually turned out. It not only looks great, but it feels and tastes great too.. not to mention smells fantastic. That is when I knew this is what I needed to do.

So I went on Etsy, like any homemade genius would and I opened up my very own Etsy shop. You can visit my shop at Twinkling Gallery Organics

Slowly I have started adding products. I started tweaking products. Adding photos and then fixing them and adding more photo's or different photo's. Eventually I have my shop to my liking. Everyday I sit down and devote time to my shop (normally during nap time.. like it is right now for example). I work on making a new flavor, coming up with a logo, adding new products to the shop, promoting the shop and in today's case, opening and starting my very first blog. So not only has this endeavor inspired me to open a shop but its also inspired me to start my first blog. All of these things are really new to me. All of these things are really exciting.

I hope with this new adventure I can bring satisfaction to myself and I can do something that not only I am proud of but that my friends and family are proud of as well.

So please, check back often as I will update my blog often and continue everyday to inspire myself and inspire others to not just imagine... but to do!
